Aaloo-Chilly – Chapter11

“You’ll definitely win,” Aaloo had said to Koko before the competition.    However, Chilly changed his song at the very last minute and the audience had laughed at his performance. Let’s see what Chilly had to say about it…

Why was Aaloo acting like this? Is he my friend or Koko’s? Everyone laughed so much at my song, but he didn’t stick up for me. When he was learning to skate, many people would harass him, but I was there to fight them off. And now look at him! He took Koko’s side instead of mine. I was feeling so sick. I was so heated up that I felt like my feathers were burning.

I felt like I needed to eat ice cream. I opened the fridge. As I was about to eat the ice cream, I heard Parsley’s hoarse voice. I was sure that Aaloo, along with his minion, Parsley, would follow me. But when I turned around, I only saw Parsley. I didn’t see Aaloo anywhere. So I asked Parsley, “Where is your dear brother Aaloo? At the competition he was all about ‘Koko, Koko, Koko’!

Parsley replied, “Koko’s singing has begun, and he needs Aaloo’s support, so Aaloo is still there!”

On hearing this, I felt heated again, as if I had fallen into a pot of hot oil. I snapped, “So, why are you here then? You should’ve just stayed there!”

Parsley replied, “Chilly, listen to me. I heard the conversation between Aaloo and Koko. Let me help you understand why…”

Hearing Koko’s name reminded me of the past incident. Even though Aaloo is my best friend, he had told Koko, “Sing well, Koko. You’ll definitely win!”

I desperately wanted to get out of there. However, Parsley would have followed me wherever I went. To get rid of him I said, “The Chilly Shake in the fridge is only for me!” Hearing the words ‘Chilly Shake,’ Parsley forgot about everything else and flew straight to the fridge.

As soon as Parsley went to the kitchen, I immediately flew away. The cool breeze didn’t make a difference. Only a cold drink from Theo’s Café would give me some relief! So, I headed towards the cafe. From up in the sky, I looked at Theo’s café and I immediately cooled down!
