Once upon a time, there was a beautiful lake where many happy aquatic animals, like fish and turtles, lived. Among them was a cheerful fish named Cherry who loved having fun with her friends. However, Cherry often felt annoyed because kids would come to the lake, throw pebbles, and splash around, causing lots of noise and disturbances. She disliked the kids and blamed them for ruining her day.
One day, the kids didn't come to the lake. Cherry was excited and thought, "Today will be the best day ever!" But as the day went on, she still felt irritated by other things. The chit-chat of her neighbours, the ducks' quacking, and people walking by all bothered her. She realized that even without kids, she was still unhappy.
At the end of the day, Cherry introspected deeply. Why was she still unhappy? What was the real reason? The kids or other things? Cherry got lost in her thoughts and suddenly realized that it wasn't the kids or anyone else causing her irritation; it was her own attitude and perspective of looking at things.
Cherry understood that as long as there were visible external factors, she blamed them. But when those factors disappeared, she realized it was her own way of looking at her surroundings. Her habit of finding faults and complaining about everything around her was making her miserable. As soon she realized all this, Cherry started to work on it from the very next day. She tried to look for positive points in every little thing and stop complaining. She even started praying to God every day, asking for the strength to stop complaining and finding faults and to have a positive vision in every situation. A few days later, the kids returned to the lake. They splashed and played as usual, but this time, to her surprise, Cherry had no negative thoughts for them. In fact, Cherry saw their joy and smiles instead of feeling annoyed. She found the playful kids delightful and noticed the happiness in her surroundings. Similarly, she saw the positive side in her neighbours, the happy ducks, and even the people passing by did not bother her anymore. Her prayers worked wonders!
Cherry had learned that a positive perspective made her world a happier place. She stopped complaining and started seeing the best in everything and everyone around her. And from then on, Cherry lived joyfully in the beautiful, lively lake.
